MaryLynn Magar Gets 100% Score from “The Voice of Florida Business”

Associated Industries of Florida, which bills itself as “The voice of Florida business,” has released its 2014 scorecard for the Florida legislature, measuring how often House and Senate members sided with AIF’s position.

Overall, Senators voted AIF’s way 86 percent of the time, with little overall difference between the parties. Senate Republicans took the pro-AIF position 87 percent of the time and Dems 85 percent of the time.

 

The House voted with AIF 89 percent of the time, with Republicans agreeing with the pro-business group on 95 percent of votes and Democrats on 80 percent.

 

Two Republicans from Palm Beach County’s House delegation — Reps. MaryLynn Magar of Tequesta and Pat Rooney Jr. of West Palm Beach — were among 19 House Republicans to get 100 percent scores from AIF. Rep. Bill Hager, R-Boca Raton, got a 98 percent rating from the pro-business group.

 

Rep. Mark Pafford, D-West Palm Beach, in line to become House Democratic leader, scored 63 percent, the second-lowest in the House.

In Palm Beach County’s Senate delegation, Democratic Sens. Maria Sachs (90 percent) and Joseph Abruzzo (89 percent) got higher scores than Republican Sen. Joe Negron (84 percent).
